Street Dance is a combination of a variety of Hip Hop fundamentals of pop and lock and breakdancing combined into one great class focusing on rhythm and self confidence.
Clean indoor runners, baggy sweats, and a shirt. Students are asked to wear something they
can move in. Students will be declined class if they are not prepared to dance.
Please call the studio for times of Street classes.
Recreational classes are formatted so that kids learn how to work well with others and build self esteem while learning fundamental street dance steps and routines. Children also are encouraged to explore the endless possibilities in choreo and exercise their imaginations. See our Recreational Brochure for details.
Competitive levels are focused and committed to not only their classes but their teammates. They are required to attend summer program classes and workshops and most importantly have fun. These levels compete in festivals in Courtenay, Nanaimo, and the Mainland and perform in various community events. Competitive teams are chosen by audition. This year we have three competitive teams: Junior, Intermediate, and Senior. All competitive information for this year is being mailed out. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the competitive teams please email Shalya Attfield. Top of Page
UDC also offers an invitation only program: Future Connections. This class helps students develop a vast knowledge of street dance and prepares them for a career in street dance. Competitive solos and small groups are also run out of this class. |
